In our Poetry and Pronunciation sessions, we look at British, Irish and American poems from the 16th through to the 20th century. We will pay special attention to intonation, stress patterns, rhythm and pausing, and learners will gain insights into ways they can make their own spoken English more effective. We also hope - of course - that learners will experience pleasure in discovering and experiencing some of the best artistic achievements that the English language has to offer. For reasons of time, we will focus on short poems. By the way, it's not nearly as serious as it sounds and you might be surprised how much you understand, so all are welcome to join us. Please note, there are pre-session tasks to be completed before the live session, but if you don't have time then that's fine - the tasks are not compulsory. Poetry and Pronunciation is included for free to those with a subscription to one of our courses.
